Illinois Butterfly Monitoring Network Awards

Every year the IBMN gives out awards to monitors, notetakers, or support people to honor them for contributions to the Network. The awards are given out at the annual March Indoor Workshop in the following winter. For example, the 2008 awards were presented in March of 2009. Criteria for awards include:

1. How well a monitor identifies butterflies, i.e. how many unknowns or questionable identifications does he/she have?
2. How completely are the data recorded by the monitor or notetaker, including time and weather conditions?
3. How promptly is the data submitted each year?
4. What does the person contribute to the IBMN above the average member?
